Response

Again with the judging...
A few classmates have already responded they felt underqualified to be judging the magazines. I have to admit I felt the same way. However, it's easy to feel that way about a lot of the things people in our class do: designing (real!) magazines, TAing intro design classes, critiquing the work of people who were our own TAs just last semester. It's a little bit crazy, but I think all the responsibility adds a level of seriousness to the work we do produce, and makes it that much more valuable in the job search. Of course this is all speculation.

I do know that I see it making people more confident in their work and beliefs. It was great to see people taking a stand for pieces this afternoon, which I think is important for the integrity of decisions made.
