the pink: too loud, the lines around the photos: obtrusive, and the carrying of pink to the second page a little overwhelming. This is how I fixed it:
(note: the colors are not showing up exactly as they should; it's clear from photos in both spreads things are off)
But that was not the end of it.
I returned again this evening to make several additional (and smaller) changes. The pink has again returned to a saturated level. The white box behind the text in the first spread has been removed. The ribbons were more than a little distracting and had to go. Check it out in this week's Vox.
